I purchased these for one intention: to freeze my favorite carbonated beverage. Yep, in the long TX summer I like to eat a frozen cola. It's an oversized stick-less popsicle for a grown up. Grab a spoon and dig in. (Or a titanium spork in my case). A can of fizzy soda fills about 3/4 up, then freezes down to the perfect level. After many, many freezings and then many, many runs through the hottest 'antibacterial' setting on my dishwasher, these look and function as well as the day I purchased them. So far no cracking, splintering, or rough little balls or strips of plastic at the lip. Sturdy is an understatement. They're gigantic restaurant style plastic cups...so definitely not the most visually appealing option out there. I personally don't drink beverages from plastic, only glass, so these are reserved for my frozen treats. However, I'd argue the way I use them is ultimately more rough and compromising to their durability, so again, super impressed with their sturdiness.Youngsters or the very petite may find their faces disappear when taking a sip; ditto for the small-handed. These are just so dang large they're nowhere near child friendly except in their near shatter-proof quality. Better find some jumbo straws! But if you like to stay hydrated but don't like to get up and refill, these are ideal. My iced tea loving, but impatient friends are hard pressed to find a better receptacle--these are perfect for pouring not-so-cooled tea and then filling with tons of ice because they're so roomy!!Priced right? Yep. Durable through vast temperature changes without growing brittle? Definitely! A little too large unless you're thirsty or a tea-aholic? Perhaps. But my ultimate decision in any review is whether I'd purchase again/recommend to a loved one. And for these cups, that's a You Betcha!
